Peek-A-Book

Boys and girls, Moms and Dads, welcome to the
wonderful world of Peek-A-Book!

What is a Peek-A-Book?

Peek-A-Book is a new creative system that inspires
children to explore the library's collection and take full advantage of its resources.

How does it work?

It uses the latest touchscreen and computer technology. The content is fun and interactive. Books are introduced by Billy the Bookworm who tells children what part of the screen to touch to activate a book presentation. Information about the library's collection, questions about books and reference texts, and an exciting treasure hunt to teach children where to find different resources, are all part of the experience. Kids love interacting with the kiosk and choosing their own topics of exploration, while headphones with hidden speakers gives librarians complete control over volume settings.

Special thanks to the Friends of the Homewood Public Library for their gift of the Peek-A-Book.
