Goldie Locks & The Bears


The Homewood Public Library loves to reach out to its community daycare centers!

Each month outreach travels to various daycares offering stories, songs, games and sometimes a movie. During our Fall/Winter sessions we read stories from many authors. We started with books from Mother Goose, Marc Brown, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Laura Numeroff. This month we are honoring books that received the Coretta Scott King Award and other famous African American Authors. The daycares that participated were; Alpha Campus, Homewood/Flossmoor Park District’s-The Learning Tree, Stepping Stones, Homewood Children Center, Star Bright, God’s Little Academy, Learn As You Grow, Lots of Love and Bright Start. This book gives the history of card collecting, elements of a card, sports cards and collectible card games. It provides research and resources, buying and selling tips, advice on how to trade, organize, store, and displaying your collection.

Easy Origami. by Didier Boursin. Boursin offers directions for 24 models, some of which are original and actually live up to the titles promise. Using standard origami notation (introduced, along with several bases, at the beginning), he presents two-color step diagrams with reasonably lucid captions for an array of animals, toys, and decorations, from a two-piece tuliplike flower, a perky hamster, and a string of paper dolls to a 12-piece geometric ball.
